Interfaith News Update -- August Newsletter (contributed by Tony and Carole Reyes)
Because of the COVID-19 increase, the only service that is open at Interfaith is still the pantry and the referral office.
Grocery deliveries are made to people who can't come in. Along with their groceries, that they can receive twice a month, they can receive a bag of toiletries once a month. We never know quite what to expect from the walk-ins. But usually the fist of the month is slow and picks up as the month progresses and clients run out of money.
The pantry is going to start handing out pre-bagged groceries so that the clients don't have to come into the building.
Getting enough volunteers is still quite a problem. As our volunteers are mostly retired folks, many of them choose to stay home.
Volunteers have been called to see how they are doing and there are no reports of COVID-19 among our volunteer family and friends.
So we are hanging in there!
