Our wood lot is full !! So we will now start filling the second wood lot. I didn't know wehad 2 wood lots...…we had 66 families sign up for wood for the coming winter.
The Salvation Army has closed their Sonora office and ICSS is taking over their voucher system which includes vouchers for specialty food, gas cards, propane tank fill assistance, and water.
Sonora United Methodist Church is planning to make packages of toiletries, etc. for emergency situation distribution. Churches are encouraged to come up with plans on how they can help not only their churches, but the community in times of crisis.
Director Cathie Peacock will come up to talk to us if we want her to. She was very involved with the Red
Cross for years.
As always, we need volunteers. here has been no childcare for quite a while. The referral office and the interview office, plus the wood lot needs help.
We will be receiving $17,500 from Emergency Shelter and Food Program to help support our pantry.
Our food budget is $40,000 for the year, so as you can guess, we depend heavily on community food drives and financial donations. We do not receive any local, state, or federal funding.
Thank you all again for your continued support.
Respectfully, Carole Reyes
